FACE TO FACE WITH EQUALITY



ABOUT PROJECT

The „Face to face with equality” project takes up a subject of equality  thus combats all forms of discrimination based on gender, racial,  faith,  belief, age, etc. The project promotes also  equal opportunities. The students  will start from interviewing respondents in each participated countries  about equality in daily life to find out the differences in their approach to above-mentioned. Results will be compared  and next used during the work by formed international thematic groups.  We aim to disscuss and create ways of solving problems, increase  students’ motivation and make learning more attractive. We also want to strengthen intercultural education and its contribution to social integration and links between school education and  civil society using innovative methods  and new technologies. We would like to prepare base of educational materials devoted to equality. Another aim of the project is participants’ awareness of European dimension in the fight for equality (precursors). We would like to reflect on how media present equality. To realize and monitor the activities and to disseminate their results we would like to use a web-site, eTwinning platform, FB group and communicators. The students will be actively involved in  international meetings through participation in drama, journalists’, movie and creativity   workshops also in Documentary Movie Marathons and The Commercial Festivals. Communication and evaluation will promote active foreign language (English). Final products will be: web-site, calendar, common brochure – invaluable  to improve the Lisbon Key Competences.  Thanks to this project the participants  will be able to have some impact on their community in a positive way disseminating their awareness about equality, sharing experience and materials.


MEETINGS

Project meeting – Gdynia, 20-25 November 2012

The first project meeting was organized by Polish partner at Gimnazjum nr 1 in Gdynia. All participants (students&teachers) started from presentation of their countries, cities and schools. They prepared intercultural boardgames, took part in active workshops in Adventure Park – some of activities gave them possibility to experience difficulties disabled people face in daily life. All participants took part in movie evening, they watched “Billy Elliot” film and worked on topics mentioned by a movie – for example  the right to choose future job and style of life. The youngsters  took part in boardgames tournament and town game. All participants visited Gdańsk and a centre of science “Hevelianum”.
